Sofia, Bulgaria, December 7, 2009 – ABB in Bulgaria has been awarded the prize “INVESTOR OF THE YEAR 2009”, by the INVESTBULGARIA Agency, for its brand new investment – the new ABB Automation EOOD factory, recently built in the area of Plovdiv.
The factory, which is an ABB Greenfield investment worth $ 20 million and whose construction started last summer is already operational, having by now 200 employees and a production area of 20,000 sqm.
The plant will combine four different productions for low and middle voltage components, in order to sustain ABB’s automation products strong growth and to support the expansion of the ABB low voltage product range and it will employ 500 people until the end of 2010.
