Hanjin Shipping has officially opened Total Terminal International Algeciras (TTIA) in Algeciras, Spain where ABB Crane Systems delivered equipment for 32 Automated Rail Mounted Gantry cranes (ARMG) and eight Ship-to-shore cranes (STS).

The terminal was formally opened by Prince Phillip of Bourbon and Ms. Eun Young Choi, Chairwoman of Hanjin Shipping. More than 500 people, including representatives from many shipowners, ports and logistics operators, attended the opening ceremony.

The Algeciras Terminal is Spain's first terminal with an automated yard system. Situated in Spain's largest port and sitting on a 350,000 m2 of land, the terminal can accommodate mega-sized container ships above 10,000 TEU and has an annual capacity of 1.56 million TEU.
