BRUSSELS, July 5, 2010 (RISI) - When Stora Enso acquired Consolidated Papers in 2000, PM 12 at the Wisconsin Rapids, WI, mill was a coated fine paper machine. Nowadays, it is the prize asset of Corenso North America, a 100%-owned subsidiary of Stora Enso. It no longer produces fine paper but has been converted to produce coreboard (core, tube) and grades for the industrial packaging market. How it arrived here is quite the story.
The Indonesian paper manufacturer PT Fajar Surya Wisesa Tbk has awarded to ABB, the contract for the supply of surface sizing chemical preparation and feeding systems, Quality Control Systems and Distributed Control Systems (QCS and DCS). These systems will be used for their new paper machine PM5 which will reach a capacity of 300,000 tons per year producing corrugated medium paper (CMP).
