ABB’s FlexWasher™ W40 is a modular robotic de-burr and washer system with industry leading “clean” results and low operating costs. The ideal solution for production with different part styles and geometries that require a configuration with different styles of high pressure water deburring (HPWD) nozzles.
System operation
The FlexWasherTM W40 consists of a main booth with vertical part entry and exit doors, an IRB 6640 Foundry Prime robot with gripper and stationary HPWD nozzles. The robot arm moves through the open entry door and picks the part from a load fixture on a stand or inside a pre-rinse chamber. The pre-rinse chamber is only necessary when rinsing highly contaminated parts.
After the deburring and wash in the main booth, the robot arm moves through the open exit door and places the part on a fixture on top of a stand or inside a drying chamber. The drying chamber is optional and operates with regenerative air blowers and air canons.
Closed loop water filtration
The FlexWasherTM W40 is equipped with a multi stage closed loop water filtration system. The vacuum or gravity filter unit filters out debris and soluble oils. An optional integrated oil separator skims non-soluble oils. Finally a duplex cartridge filter completes the fine filtration of particles. The most suited filter depends on the amount of water flow, chip load and soluble oils.
Part loading
The FlexWasherTM W40 can be a stand alone unit with manual loading of parts or integrated into full automatic systems with automated loading of parts.
